David A Johnson - Pilates
David has trained in movement, form working out in the gyms of the 80’s, taking dance classes at the groundbreaking Pineapple Studios to studying Capoiera in Brazil and has worked semi-professionally as a performer for 15 years.
As a mature student he studied History of Art and Anthropology at Oxford Brookes University. With a history of shoulder problems and the onset of unspecific leg problems he found himself in the Pilates studio of Lynne Robinson’s Body Control Group. So impressed with the ideas and philosophy of Pilates David has since studied with Michael King at the Pilates Institute and with the recently established BASI courses at the Royal Academy of Dance. He is currently studying with Polestar Pilates and hopes to one day return to Anthropology looking at systems of body training.
David currently teaches mat work to a wide demographic from private one to one classes at client’s homes, to group mat classes at private health and fitness clubs across London. He also teaches Body Balance which mixes Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates.
